If you want to be successful, find something that you truly enjoy. If you can find a job that you love, you’ll never truly have to work a day in your life.
Many people can list all the things they don’t like; all the jobs they wouldn’t like to do. But ask them what they do want, and they will struggle.
People who do what they love naturally become good at it. They are willing to spend almost limitless amounts of time at it, so continuously get better and better.
You don’t want to get to retirement and realise you could have spent your life doing things you enjoyed, rather than slaving away on the twenty-fifth floor of some anonymous office block filling in forms.
Do you think Will.i.am hates creating music? Do you think Oprah Winfrey hates talking to people?
Find what you love doing, then (and this is important) find a way you can be of some value to other people doing it. The more value you can be to others, the more you will get back in return.
Success is hard work – you need to put in a lot of effort. You need to find a burning desire for something. Something that will get you jumping out of bed first thing in the morning, and keeps you thinking about it all day.
